My question is...are they ever busy? I have never seen more than a few occupied tables at a time. Maybe it's because the area is kind of hidden. It's definitely not worth driving out of my way for and maybe that's how others feel too.

We were seated in the back of the restaurant in a huge booth that could hold at least four more large people. Nice and comfy, for sure, but our neighbors were a long table of younger kids celebrating a 21st birthday, and what appeared to be another birthday in progress. It was so loud, I had to yell at A for him to hear me.
After a few minutes of waiting, our server came by and insisted on giving us a detailed overview of all their brews. He was almost overly excited about the beer, but I chose something he recommended and was pleased with it, so it's all good. For dinner I ordered some honkin' monstrosity of a burger that had gorgonzola, fried onions and barbeque sauce on it. Not what I'd normally order, but I was on vacation and starving. It was actually very good and came with a choice of two sides, one of which was fruit...another plus.
Not sure I'd make Rock Bottom a place I visit regularly, but I can see the appeal. It's like a Chili's on steroids.
I met a vendor there for a breakfast meeting and ordered drip coffee and a butter croissant again. I thought maybe this time the croissant wouldn't be stale since it was actually before 9:00am. Nope. It was stale and tasteless, as was the coffee.
I honestly don't get this place. It's overpriced, generic and gross. How is it so popular?

just not doing it for me.
perhaps it was the stale croissant. maybe it was the green iced tea that was about $2 too expensive and entirely too sweet to actually be green tea. sure, the color was green, but if it's apple tea, let's just freakin' call it what it is. maybe it was because i haven't eaten anything but a stale croissant today and it's nearly 5:30.

It was 100 degrees outside, which made for a busy day inside. The staff was enthusiastic and friendly and managed to get us all served even though there was no line -- just a bunch of hot, sweaty people milling about, craving ice cream.
I was having a hard time seeing all the flavors, so a girl behind the counter helped me out. She really, really wanted to make me a shake or a banana split, but I settled on a scoop of chocolate peanut butter.
Friendly staff and delicious ice cream = happy Terrell.

I booked the room through Hotwire and they had given me 2 double beds. When I was asked if that was OK, I shrugged and the clerk asked if I'd prefer a King. I said yes. Then she asked what floor I wanted to be on. I said I didn't have a preference. We ended up on 17th, with a beautiful view. I would've been satisfied with double beds in the basement, but they clearly wanted me to enjoy my stay.
Minus one star for their in-house dining. The Bistro downstairs looked like a beefed up buffet, and I didn't feel the urge to check it out. I wish there were more indie coffee shops nearby, but that's not the fault of the hotel.
Overall, I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. It's not as cute as a boutique hotel or as charming as, say, The Benson, but it's clean, quiet and the beds are super comfy. The rest is icing on the cake.

It's dark and kitchy. There is an ashtray next to the toilet in the Ladie's room. I drank something called "Clean Underpants." They were playing excellent music on the jukebox.
Good times.

Wonderful food and service. Cute place. Too bad it was hotter than Hades in there.

I went back last month for the first time in a couple years and tried to relive my happy memories, but unfortunately the FR sandwich I ordered was hardly edible -- mostly a blob of sauce on bread. The fries and beer were tasty though, and if I'm in neighborhood again and need a bite to eat, I will give them another try.
